Patanjali International Yoga Foundation, Art of Living Foundation and Isha Foundation offer classical Yoga courses

The second governing council meet of the Indian Yoga Association (IYA) was held at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore. Sadhguru, Founder, Isha Foundation, welcomed the IYA Chairman, Swami Ramdev and other members of the governing council to the Yoga Center located at the foothills of the picturesque Velliangiri Mountain range, on the outskirts of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
The meeting brought together heads of various institutions and organizations that are actively promoting the spread of Yoga as a non-religious and scientific tool to enhance human wellbeing. The second meeting of the IYA governing council explored ways and means to disseminate Yoga to larger groups by creating the right infrastructure that can help transmit the practices without dilution. The role of institutional partnerships, government support and promotion of Yoga as a sport were also discussed.
IYA is a self-regulatory body of leading Yoga organizations in India. Governing council members who attended the meeting included Sri Sri Ravishankar, Founder, Art of Living through video conference; Dr. H.R. Nagendra, Chancellor, SVYASA Yoga University; and Swami Chidanand Saraswati, President, Paramarth Niketan among others. For many of the governing council members, it was their first visit to the famously scenic Isha Yoga Center , home to Adiyogi, an Incredible India destination. The council members who reached a day ahead of the meeting visited the Dhyanalinga Yogic Temple, Linga Bhairavi and Adiyogi at the Isha Yoga Center.
Organizations such as Patanjali International Yoga Foundation, Art of Living Foundation and Isha Foundation among others, offer classical Yoga courses that are practiced by millions around the world. United Nations has declared 21 June as the International Day of Yoga which is observed globally by over 175 countries. Several mainstream medical practitioners have acknowledged the efficacy of using Yoga as supportive therapy to manage medical conditions.
Mahashivaratri at Isha Yoga Centre
Mahashivaratri will be celebrated at Isha Yoga Centre on 21st February. Festivities will start at 6 p.m. on the 21st and will continue till 6 a.m. on the 22nd. This will be the 26th Mahashivaratri celebrations at the Isha Yoga Centre.
Sadhguru will be present throughout the night, conducting guided meditations including the powerful midnight meditation and Satsang. Kabir Cafe, Raghu Dixit and other prominent artists from around the world will be performing at the event. Millions of people are expected to join the event in person or virtually. The event will be streamed through live satellite feeds in English and 11 Indian languages.
