Good news : 102 National Universities, 6 IIMs and 2 IITs, have recognised CA qualification for pursuing the PhD

The President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), CA Naveen N D Gupta has informed that the Chartered Accountants can now apply and join for Phd Programme as Visvesvaraya Technological University of Belagavi, Karnataka has recognised the Chartered Accountancy qualification as equivalent to Masters degree.
“I take pleasure to inform the membership that Visvesvaraya Technological University of Belagavi (Karnataka) has recognised the Chartered Accountancy qualification as equivalent to Masters degree and therefore, our members can now apply and join the their PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) programme under the Management Studies (Financial Management).
So far now, a total of 110 academic institutions of the country, including 102 Universities, 6 IIMs and 2 IITs, have recognised our Chartered Accountancy qualification for pursuing the PhD programme,” ICAI Chief said.
Chartered Accountancy course of ICAI is being accepted and recognised in the country as well as globally from both academic and professional perspectives.
While on the one hand, we are constantly entering into new MRAs and MoUs with foreign and international accounting bodies with acceptance of our CA qualification abroad, our academic institutions within the national territories are accepting our members offering them to pursue the PhD programmes at their premises.
